New Builds & Extensions

At Holt Plastering we are also able to plaster any newly built walls or extensions in your property. We plasterboard all timber framework & insulate before all block work is float & set using hardwall & multi finish. This provides a perfect finish for you to then decorate and paint.

Overboarding is the process of fixing new clean plasterboard on top of an existing surface and then plastering over to give a new clean smooth look. This can also be used as a method to cover over Artex Ceilings

Damp Proofing

Where damp plaster is present the process is to hack off old plaster back to the brick or stonework to 1 meter high then apply damp-proof to the exposed brick or stonework. Once dy then apply hardwall or sand and cement before finally plastering the entire wall.

Over the years we have plastered thousands of properties, carrying out anything from one wall or ceiling through to full large house renovations. All of our plastering work is carried out by City & Guilds qualified plasterers and we are British Gypsum Certified Plasterers.

Artex Ceilings

Artex ceilings were in fashion back in the 1970’s and 80’s and many property owners are now looking to update their ceilings and remove the look of the patterned artex ceilings. We are able to plaster over the artex ceilings, using great care as artex can contain small amounts of asbestos so therefore needs to be handled with caution.

Monocouche rendering is applied to the outside walls of a building to provide a decorative finish and increase protection against the weather. The render can be applied either by hand or machine depending on the size of the job.

Skimming is when you apply a small layer of finishing plaster either over an existing surface such as a ceiling/wall or over plasterboard. Skimming is a very effective way of smoothing over an uneven surface without having to completely replaster the surface which saves time. Skimming is often used to cover over artex ceilings.

Here at Holt Plastering we have refurbished a good number of properties both small & large ranging from extensions/garage conversions upto 6 bedroom houses and a complete house makeover. The work has involved plasterboarding, float and set & skimming. We have also undertaken remedial insurance works in the event of floods or accidents for example.
