Kitchen and Bathroom Plastering in Witney and Oxfordshire
I carry out a large amount of kitchen and bathroom plastering work across Witney and the wider Oxfordshire area. These rooms often need extra care and preparation, especially where old units have been removed or new electrical work has been carried out. My aim is always to leave you and your kitchen or bathroom fitter with a clean, smooth surface that’s ready for tiling, painting or installation.
Plastering for Kitchens and Bathrooms
Most jobs begin by overboarding the ceiling to create a solid, level base, followed by a freshly plastered finish. This is especially common in older properties where ceilings may be uneven or cracked.
Walls are then prepared by filling electrical chases and old socket points with bonding plaster, before applying two coats of multi-finish plaster for a smooth, durable surface. This gives both you and your fitter a blank canvas to work from and ensures a high-quality finish behind units, splashbacks and fixtures.
Moisture-Resistant Plasterboard
Bathrooms and other damp-prone areas often require additional protection. Where plasterboard is needed, I always install moisture-resistant boards, ensuring the walls can cope with steam and humidity before being tiled or painted.
This approach provides a long-lasting, professional result that stands up to everyday use.

Kitchen and Bathroom Plastering FAQs
Do you remove old tiles or kitchen units before plastering?
I can carry out plastering once the room has been stripped. Most customers or their fitter remove tiles and units first, but I’m happy to advise on what needs doing before work begins.
Can you plaster behind new kitchen or bathroom fittings?
Yes. I ensure walls and ceilings are fully prepared and plastered before installation, giving your fitter a smooth and level surface to work with.
Do you use moisture-resistant materials in bathrooms?
Yes. Any plasterboard fitted in bathrooms or wet areas will always be moisture-resistant to ensure a long-lasting finish.
