After opening the fireplace in my living room to find a large, hollow cavity surrounded by a chimney breast that was crumbling and falling to pieces I knew I needed a good plasterer to handle this technical feature. I’d used Martin before so I knew he was up to the challenge. Martin fitted a timber frame behind where the fire used to be to provide structure, then went about re-constructing the chimney breast, skimming the walls and plaster-boarding the ceiling without covering the period architrave. It was excellent work from Martin that has made a real difference to the house.
